System audio and microphone input
Use System Audio to visualize anything playing on the Mac, including audio from Apple Music, Spotify, browsers, and other apps. Microphone input can capture a live instrument, voice, or the surrounding room.
Bloop is a macOS music visualizer that turns system audio or microphone input into responsive visuals across eight skins. It is designed for listening sessions, on-screen ambient visuals, and music video exports.
Bloop is a music visualizer for Mac that responds to audio in real time. It listens to system audio from the Mac or to microphone input, then turns the track’s level, bass, midrange, treble, energy, and beats into animated visual movement. The visualizer can run during a listening session or render the result as a video.
The app combines eight visual skins with controls for the visual environment, playback information for supported players, and an export workflow based on MP3 files and playlists. It is available as a free macOS download, with one-time paid unlocks for all skins and video export.

The visual movement responds to level, bass, mid, treble, energy, and beats. Microphone sensitivity can be adjusted from 1/8× to 8×, and steady room noise settles out automatically.
Choose among Glossy, Contour, Bubble, Mesh, Dust, Dandelion, Parasite, and Wake. Each presents the same audio response through a different material, structure, and lighting treatment.
Dark mode, glow, and a transparent macOS glass surface change how the visual sits on screen. Prevent Sleep keeps it running through longer listening sessions.
Bloop can read track information from Apple Music and Spotify, and can show supported browser playback titles when browser detection is available. Previous, play or pause, and next controls are available for controllable players such as Apple Music and Spotify.
Add one MP3 or arrange multiple MP3 files as a playlist, then select a skin, frame, background, and intro or outro timing. Bloop exports H.264 video with AAC audio in 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, or 3:4 formats.
Leave Bloop running while an album or playlist plays to add an audio-responsive visual layer to a Mac screen. Prevent Sleep supports longer sessions.
Select Microphone to visualize a voice, live instrument, or the surrounding room instead of the Mac’s system playback. Sensitivity controls help accommodate quieter or louder environments.
Build a playlist from MP3 files, select a visual skin, configure the frame and background, and add intro or outro timing to produce a finished music video.
Use the export aspect-ratio options for 9:16, 1:1, or 3:4 output, or choose 16:9 for a conventional landscape video. Background images can use Fill or Fit placement.
Use track information and playback controls with Apple Music or Spotify while the visualizer runs. Supported browser playback can display the track title, though browser playback controls remain hidden.
The current release requires macOS 15 or later and is listed for Apple silicon Macs. A Windows version is planned but is not currently available.
On first launch, macOS asks for System Audio Recording permission so Bloop can capture system audio. Screen Recording permission is not required. Browser playback detection may request Accessibility access to read browser window and tab titles, not page content.
System Audio can capture audio from Apple Music, Spotify, browsers, and other Mac apps. Microphone mode can capture a live instrument, voice, or room sound.
Exports can use one MP3 or a multi-track MP3 playlist, one of the eight skins, a selected frame and background, and intro or outro timing. Output uses H.264 video with AAC audio in 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, or 3:4.
Bloop is free to download. All Skins and Creator are one-time purchases with no subscription or account, and one license works on two Macs. Creator includes video export; an Export Upgrade is available for All Skins owners.
