Clarifyとは？

Clarify is an ebook reader designed for close reading of difficult books. It lets readers simplify prose as they read, rewrite a selected sentence in plainer language, or get an explanation of a difficult idea while staying inside the book.

The app centers on EPUB books imported into a private library on your device. Reading progress, cached simplifications, and app preferences are stored locally, while AI-based help can be used only when you need it. The original text remains available, and the app is built so readers can compare the source passage with the simplified or explained version.

Clarify includes guided reading paths for topics such as Stoicism, ethics and the good life, and power and government. It also has Android early access registration, while the iPhone and iPad app is available as a free download. Does Clarify require an account?

No. The privacy policy says the app does not require an account.

How do the AI features work?

You select text while reading and choose a tool such as Word Meaning, Simplify, or Explain. The selected text and relevant book context are sent for processing, and the response is returned in the app.

How is reading data stored?

Books, reading progress, simplification cache, and app preferences are stored locally on your device. The privacy policy says the server does not store the text sent for AI processing after the response is returned.
