Visual content moderation
Detect nudity, violence, weapons, hate symbols, gore and self-harm in images and videos. Additional models identify restricted content such as drugs, alcohol, tobacco and gambling.
Content moderation and media analysis APIs for developers building online platforms.
Sightengine provides APIs for analyzing and moderating images, videos, text and audio. Developers can select models to assess content against platform policies, detect synthetic media and evaluate submitted images. Its documentation and SDKs support integrating these checks into content submission and review workflows.
The product combines moderation with visual search, face analysis, OCR and image quality assessment. Separate models address different tasks, allowing platforms to choose the checks relevant to their content and account requirements.
Detect nudity, violence, weapons, hate symbols, gore and self-harm in images and videos. Additional models identify restricted content such as drugs, alcohol, tobacco and gambling.
Screen text for sexual, hateful, violent or insulting content and personal information. OCR and QR moderation inspect content within images and videos; audio moderation transcribes speech and detects profanity.
Assess images and videos for AI generation or deepfake manipulation. Separate audio capabilities detect synthetic speech, voice clones and fully AI-generated music.
Locate faces and assess realness, obstruction, angle, filters and quality. Separate liveness and recapture models detect presentation attacks and photos of other photos.
Find similar images and videos, including videos with common scenes. Custom disallow lists support blocking previously identified content and detecting repeated submissions.
Identify blur, poor lighting and contrast problems. Other models detect dominant colors and distinguish natural photographs from illustrations.
Apply selected moderation checks to uploaded posts and media before publication to enforce a platform's content rules.
Analyze live streams as part of a real-time moderation pipeline. Live-stream support is available on Pro and Enterprise plans.
Set acceptance criteria around visible, recognizable faces, obstruction and image quality, with additional checks for minors or multiple people.
Use liveness and recapture detection during onboarding, KYC or account recovery to identify faces presented on screens, printouts or masks.
Screen embedded contact details, external usernames, links and QR codes to identify attempts to move interactions outside a platform.
The Free plan includes 2,000 operations per month, capped at 500 per day, for basic content moderation and AI detection. It has no time limit.
Starter costs $29 per month for 10,000 operations; Pro costs $99 per month for 40,000. Both charge $0.002 per additional operation. Enterprise offers custom volume and pricing.
Usage depends on the request. Running nudity detection on one image counts as one operation. Responses report operations consumed, and requests that return errors do not count toward the monthly limit.
Starter supports videos up to 50MB and one concurrent video job. Pro supports videos up to 500MB, five concurrent jobs and live streams. Enterprise offers custom limits.
Face analysis evaluates whether a face is real or artificial and assesses its appearance. Real faces can include faces in reflections or photos. Sightengine provides a separate Face Liveness Detection model for spoofing checks.
