Connected notes, article summaries, and reusable AI prompts in Reflect Classic.

O que é Reflect Notes?

Reflect Notes is the original Reflect note-taking app, now referred to as Reflect Classic. It combines daily notes, backlinks, fast capture, and a minimalist writing interface. AI features include reusable prompts, summaries for saved web links, and audio transcription to support personal writing and research.

Reflect Classic remains available and maintained, with existing accounts and note collections continuing to work. Reflect Open is a separate, newer application built around local Markdown files. Moving to Open is optional; its free Mac offering and local-file workflow do not automatically replace a Classic subscription.

O que Reflect Notes pode fazer?

Daily notes and backlinks

Capture thoughts in daily notes and connect related people, projects, and ideas through backlinks. The linked collection supports ongoing personal reference and writing.

Web links with AI summaries

Save a link through the browser extension or mobile sharing. Reflect’s link-summary feature adds a short page summary to your notes and gives search more context for finding the saved material.

Reusable AI prompts

Create, copy, edit, and delete custom AI prompt templates from preferences so repeated writing or note-processing tasks can use the same instructions.

Audio memos and searchable material

Capture audio memos and transcribe them on supported Mac and iOS workflows. Text from images inside PDFs is added to the note search index.

Casos de uso

“Connected personal journaling”

“Research capture”

Save article links with summaries, bring supporting PDF material into searchable notes, and connect useful sources to the topic you are exploring.

“Repeatable writing workflows”

Keep custom AI prompts for recurring editing and note-processing tasks, alongside the notes and references used in your work.

Perguntas frequentes

Is Reflect Classic shutting down?

Reflect says the existing app remains available and will continue to receive maintenance and bug fixes. There is no deadline to move to Reflect Open.

Is Reflect Open an update to my existing app?

Reflect Open is a separate application with a different storage model: local Markdown files in a folder you choose. Classic retains its existing account and note collection. The two applications can be used alongside one another.

What happens when I import my Classic notes into Open?

Importing creates a copy without deleting or changing the original Classic notes. Later edits do not synchronize between the two applications. The launch documentation also says some information, including note history and published URLs, does not transfer with the import.

Does trying Open cancel my Classic subscription?

No. The current website says eligible paid Classic subscribers can claim one year of the Open iPhone and iPad app free, and claiming that offer does not cancel the Classic subscription. Open’s Mac app is free; its mobile app otherwise uses a paid subscription. Optional AI in Open uses your own provider key, with provider charges billed separately.

How does the Classic subscription work?

Classic continues under its separate subscription. Subscriptions renew unless cancelled; cancelling renewal keeps access through the paid period. Paid subscription fees are generally non-refundable, with legal exceptions and discretionary refund requests under the terms.
