Analytics field selection
Select sessions, users, engagement, revenue, or ecommerce measures alongside compatible traffic, page, device, and item dimensions.
Build GA4 BigQuery SQL by selecting fields, dates, filters, and a table.
GA4 SQL is a free browser-based query builder for Google Analytics 4 data exported to BigQuery. Choose a table, date range, metrics, and dimensions to generate SQL, then copy and review the query for use in your own BigQuery project.
The builder includes field definitions, compatible-selection controls, filters, sorting, and custom event parameters. It is useful for creating an initial reporting query without composing all of the SQL by hand; running that query and interpreting its results remain part of your BigQuery workflow.
Select sessions, users, engagement, revenue, or ecommerce measures alongside compatible traffic, page, device, and item dimensions.
Use preset or custom dates, specify a table, add field conditions, and choose how the result should be ordered.
Define event-scoped custom metrics or parameter-based dimensions. The chosen metrics affect dimension scope, and filters need parameters actually present in the events.
Read help definitions while configuring fields, then copy the generated SQL and customize it when additional logic is needed.
Build an initial SQL query for a chosen reporting period and fields, then review it before execution in BigQuery.
Combine compatible source, campaign, page, or item dimensions with the corresponding sessions, events, purchase, or revenue measures.
Set up a metric or dimension around an event name and its parameters instead of limiting the query to standard fields.
Your GA4 property needs to be linked to a Google Cloud project with its data exported to BigQuery. Enter the appropriate table name in the builder; GA4 SQL generates the query rather than setting up the export or running a report for you.
Yes. GA4 SQL currently offers free, unlimited query generation. BigQuery query processing and data storage have their own Google Cloud pricing and can incur separate charges.
Some metrics and dimensions cannot be combined. The builder disables incompatible choices; select a different combination that matches the analysis you need.
SQL knowledge is not required to build an initial query, but it helps when customizing or reviewing it. BigQuery-export results can differ from the GA4 interface because the interface applies additional processing. Check field definitions and reporting assumptions before comparing totals.
