Dictato is a live dictation app for Mac that turns speech into processed text in the application you are using. Hold a hotkey or tap to toggle recording, speak, and insert the result at your cursor. Speech recognition and text cleanup run on your Mac, without cloud processing or an account.
It is designed for composing text as you work, with punctuation, paragraph breaks and optional tone adjustments handled before insertion. Dictation has no word cap or time limit, and listening continues through pauses until you release the key or stop recording.
