Upload and organize media
Upload images and videos through an API or configurable widget, then organize assets into folders and search the media library by tags and attributes.
Upload images and videos, create optimized versions, and deliver them through a CDN. Cloudinary combines media APIs and a management console with AI-assisted cropping and separately scoped DAM and add-ons.
Cloudinary is a cloud platform for managing images and videos used in websites and applications. Upload media through an API or upload widget, organize it in a media library, then create optimized versions and deliver them through a CDN.
Its Image and Video API plans cover media processing and delivery. Content-aware cropping helps adapt visuals to different layouts. Assets DAM provides a separate asset-management offering, while processing add-ons have their own allowances and billing.

Resize, crop, convert formats, adjust quality, and add image or text overlays through URL-based transformations. Content-aware cropping focuses the composition on important subjects.
Transcode uploaded videos, produce different sizes and formats, and deliver adaptive-bitrate streams, including HLS and MPEG-DASH.
Use automatic format and quality selection with responsive resizing to prepare images for websites and mobile applications.
Create different sizes and crops from an uploaded product image for storefront listings and detail pages.
Deliver optimized image variants for different layouts and devices without manually exporting every version.
Upload source footage, transcode it and deliver an adaptive stream through the CDN.
The Image and Video API Free plan is ongoing, requires no credit card and includes 25 monthly credits. Assets DAM is a separate offering with a 30-day trial and 25 GB of storage; its Enterprise plan is custom-priced.
Processing, storage and delivery share one credit pool. A credit covers 1,000 image transformations, 1 GB of storage or 1 GB of image bandwidth, with resource usage added together. Video processing is metered by duration and resolution. On Free, Plus and Advanced, transformations and bandwidth use a rolling 30-day window; storage reflects the current total.
Plus adds auto-tagging-based search to the API plans. Processing add-ons have their own tiers and quotas, billed separately from base-plan credits. Many offer a free tier; paid add-on tiers require a paid Cloudinary base plan.
For base-plan credits, Cloudinary sends warnings and repeated upgrade notices; an account can eventually be disabled if no action is taken. An add-on with a usage quota stops when that quota is exhausted, until it renews or its tier changes.
