Contra is a freelance network and work platform for independent creatives, studios, and companies hiring contractors. Creatives publish portfolios and apply for projects; clients browse talent, post jobs, review applications, and manage engagements in a shared workspace.
The platform combines contracts, invoices, payment links, project payments, and digital product sales. It also includes Indy AI for work discovery and profile assistance. Commission-free earnings refer to Contra's commission policy; platform, processor, payout, and currency-conversion fees can still apply.

Companies can post jobs for free and invite candidates. Freelancers have limited job access on Free and unlimited opportunities on Pro; Pro also boosts visibility in Discover and applications.
Choose a Contra or region-specific contract template, or upload your own PDF. Project payments support fixed or hourly escrow, milestones and recurring invoice billing. Both parties must check that their agreement suits the project.
Send one-off invoices or share payment links with one-time or subscription pricing. Clients can pay these through guest checkout without creating a Contra account.
Sell digital files, templates, workflows or subscriptions through a checkout and delivery page. Set the content buyers receive and your pricing; sellers remain responsible for product rights, functionality and applicable obligations.
Use the built-in assistant for work searches, profile improvements and personalized recommendations. Some lead-finding functionality may require Pro and authorized LinkedIn or X access through a browser extension. Recommendations do not guarantee work.
Review relevant portfolios, invite applicants, select a contractor, sign a contract, and manage project payments.
Bring a current client onto Contra through an invoice, payment link, or project invite, then keep deliverables and transactions organized.

Free has no subscription charge. Pro costs $29 monthly or $199 annually and includes unlimited job access, boosted visibility and waived Contra platform and digital-product fees. Subscriptions renew automatically; cancel before renewal to stop future charges. The terms state subscriptions are nonrefundable, with access continuing through the paid term. Taxes and third-party charges can apply.
No. Free includes client payment fees; paid digital products carry a 5% Contra fee with a $3 minimum and $29 cap. Pro waives those fees and the faster-payout charge. Coinbase crypto payout fees are 2% on Free, 1% on Pro and 0% on Max. Processor, payout-provider and currency-conversion charges can still apply.
Standard fiat payouts include a four-day safety-clearance period plus provider transit time. Faster payouts shorten that clearance but do not remove bank settlement requirements. ACH payments take 3–5 business days to settle and SEPA 7–10; access to these payment methods requires eligibility review.
Profiles and portfolio posts are public; get written client consent before posting confidential work. You retain content rights while granting Contra an operating and promotional license. Indy can process profile, project, communication and prompt data using external AI providers. The privacy policy excludes personal information from general-purpose model training; it still permits external AI processing.
Contra is for business use by legal entities or individuals at least 18, or the local age of majority, who can form binding contracts. Clients and freelancers remain responsible for their agreements, worker classification, work quality, uploaded-content rights and appropriate use of AI recommendations.
